A heroin dressed as a man, who fights with a sword and is extremely independent… should I explain why is Mulan my favourite Disney-not-Princess?
I’ve always wanted to dress up like her, but I haven’t oriental features at all, so I hardly believed I could do It right. Furthermore, her most famous dress required a geisha’s make-up, not simple at all. So, I chose the last dress she wears in the cartoon, which has my favourite colours: blue and light blue. The realization wouldn’t have been hard, if only we hadn’t have some familiar problems, that forced Betty to abandon the half-completed work. The one who saved me is the good and talented Federica, who made an awesome work, even if she had to complete a dress made by someone else, facing the terrible satin-sleeves with high cuffs!
I got by very easily, just finding a Chinese sword and a fan as accessories… even if, this time, my secret weapon was the Mushu plushie, the real star of my costume!

I started without any rush: after two journeys in Japan, and having two real kimono, I am familiar with that kind of dress and I knew how to make it. Besides, Ryuki and I had two whole months to realize it. Unfortunately, because of some sudden complications, I had to abandon my half-completed work. But luckily, the wonderful Federica took my place and completed it all! I bet she got inspired by the constant presence of Mushu, who supervised all by the workdesk. To be honest, when we came to the Sigurtà Park, we noticed that it’s just because of him if the kids recognize Ryuki’s character. This time, the most photographed and appreciated has been the little dragon!
